Basic Stamp Diagram

The basic stamp is a cheap way of building a basic microcontroller, they requiresome special programming both hardware and software. The figure shows a basic power supply with prototyping area and simple peripherals, such as reset switch, LED and small interface connector. The module communicates with a standard serial port via a 9 - way sub-D socket, the I/O pins can communicate with digital devices, sense switches and even directly drive small loads like LED's. This model can be reset by pressing push-button S1. The switch will be used whenever a program is to be downloaded into the Stamp.
