Sitting here wait for my computer to boot, it seems strange how long it takes for the computer to actually start. in the old days of 486's and pentiums, I feel that the amount of time to start a computer seems to take similar times comparing standards of software at the time.
Just thinking, actually how long did it take to boot 98 to a desktop on a pentium, compared with how long it takes my Pentium M 1400 Gigawhat ever to boot my XP.
Have we really made progress on the speed of computers, well in terms of functionality I supose yes, showing how diffecult it was to get USB working in my win 95 machine working.
But thinking about it, how usful is the card reader in my laptop with added software, and firewire and video out.. etc if I don't really use it.
The standard of life is changing with the added features included just in case you need them attitude.. Maybe I am just slow with keeping up.
