Sad Day
Thursday, July 7, 2005, 09:33 PM

A very sad day today for Britians and Londers.. I some respects it was kinda of expected that something would happen, but for it to actually happy is terrible.

Not sure exactly what to feel with so many that have lost their lives what kind of a world are we now living in.

The thought that people whom ever they are can walk into out capital and take lives, over what. War ?? who knows. The war I think was maybe a bad thing, I don't know, perhaps I need to know more before I decide if it was good or bad..

The only thing now is that we continue. Maybe this will make people think about what is happening in the world and do something about it.. Keep a watchful eye, look on at those people who seem out of place.. The world will go on, let hope it becomes a safer place as a result of what happened today.

Car-to-car Wi-Fi
Friday, February 4, 2005, 09:29 AM
read an article on the way in which wireless will one day help in the support of cars. There is a new protocol being developed for the use of transmitting important information based on the road ahead. Accedent and traffic hotspots seem to be the favorite, although with time the link will double for consumer applications such as multiplayer gaming between passengers in different cars.

But what about control, there is talk about this new protocol being used to actually control braking and to nagotiate junctions and slip roads to allow smooth flowing traffic.

BMW who are already looking at car-to-car connected networks are specifically looking at extending the reach of sensors by providing information about the drivind corridor.

Makers of the system are so confident that the system will work at the high speeds that they have already built a prototype of the system. Using GPS they can transmit data accross a geographic area, they admit in these early stages implementations would be simple. But in time they are expecting integration into navigation systems as well as passing on data enhanced by its own knowledge.

The hardware is expecting to be based on a Mini-iTx board for processing sensor information coming from the engine control unit, ABS activation and other modules. The software is likly to be installed remotly presumably with some sort os security so that hackers and alike can not re-program them.

With all this sophisticated technology being put into cars and the current state of the internet, we only hope the level of security is good enough to protect the enhancements we will one day rely on. Only time will tell as we way up the cost of technology and information against the cost of lives.
