Taylor's Dynamic HTML Tutorial
Lesson 2

by Taylor

Page 5 — Homework

So those are the bare basics of positioning, your first step toward cross- platform dHTML. Tomorrow we'll get into the real juicy and frustrating aspects of cross-platform dHTML - that is, scripting. But, for now, let's do a little homework, shall we? Here is act 1, scene 1, of The Webmonkeys vs. El Niño in either zip or hqx format. Take the raw HTML, which looks rather boring and undramatic, and mark it up to match this screenshot (again, setting it as a background image is a good way to use the screenshot as a guide). Then tomorrow we'll animate that screen and the dramatis personae screen, so if you skipped out on doing that first assignment, you should complete that as well.

Then tomorrow we'll get ready to lose ourselves in JavaScript.
