The Monkey Bite Archive

Every Monday through Friday-ish, we post a new Monkey Bite on our frontdoor for your edification. This could be a little news item, a link to a useful site, a handy coding tip, or just some random piece of information we think might be of interest to Web developers. Expired Monkey Bites are stored right here, growing tastier and more sophisticated with each passing day.

This month's Monkey Bites:

07/30/02

Chilling Effects Clearinghouse, a "joint project of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, University of San Francisco, and University of Maine law school clinics" (See? Those universities totally get along. All those rumors about Maine calling Berkeley fat and Stanford calling Harvard easy were just that: rumors!), keeps you in-looped about the declining state of your online rights.

07/29/02

Blog-famous Jack Saturn's tongue-in-teeth letter to former employer Pyra/Blogger is part commentary about life as a boy in the post-bubble, part artifact of those drama-thick, layoff days. (The letter even features secret footnotes in the source code! So retro! So DFW!)

Ladies and Gentlefolk! Diction-Araoke! (That's right, the voice of Mirriam-Webster, much like your heart, sings.)

Say, now that your icon-building chops are all sharpened up, why not sink your skills into Axialis Software's icon building contest? You could just win yourself a free copy of IconWorkshop 5.0.

Hey! Sister site Tripod just got cuted up with a spanking-new redesign. Not only does the updated site feature a super-fine look and feel, but also a whole herd of hot Webmonkey links. Yay! The Monkey says: click, learn, love! Like, stat.

I can't believe we haven't said this yet, but the5k.org has released its list of official 2002 entries for the "Anything Goes" competition. Click on over and start rating today! (Right now, our favorite's Wolfenstein.) And once you've got that rating finger all warmed up, why not go ahea d and rate yourself some kittens?
